In Memoriam: Karen Sinotte, Chair of the  Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre Board of Management

November 13, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our Board Chair, Karen Sinotte, who died on October 27th, 2025.

Karen joined the Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre Board of Management in 2021 and was appointed Chair in 2023. During her time with us, she was a passionate supporter of all WNC programs and services, and a steadfast advocate for access, inclusion, and community well-being.

Karen played a pivotal role in shaping our current Strategic Plan, bringing both insight and heart to the process. Her leadership was marked by integrity, humour, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve. She was not only a strong advocate for the community but also a source of warmth and inspiration to all who worked with her.

We extend our deepest condolences to Karen’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.
