It’s week number 5 in our #WNC_Countdownto30 series!

Did you know that in 2019, Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre’s very own community garden produced 1,024lbs of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs and was home to over 1000 species of plants?!

Our garden was initially developed as a wildflower garden in 2003 with the help of over 60 community and student volunteers. In 2012, with support from a grant, we were able to upgrade the garden to produce food for the community!

Many people help to care for our garden! This includes our incredible garden expert Michael, our community and corporate volunteers, our youth program who help to sell vegetables, our staff team who deliver fresh produce to isolated seniors, and our program participants of all ages who love to visit and help care for the garden.Check out some photos from the past 18 years!
