Thank you to those staff, families, children, youth and seniors that participated and joined us in our Truth & Reconciliation Event on September 30th 🧡
We know that without truth, there can be no reconciliation. It is important for us to create spaces to learn the truth of the history of residential schools in this country in order to then contribute and take action as a community towards reconciliation for our indigenous people.
It was nice to see so many community members join us for presentations from our community development placement students, After School Program, seniors participants as well as a visit to our Indigenous Medicine Wheel Garden.

Thank you to Liz McGroarty, Repair Café Volunteer Organizer, Volunteer Fixers (13 in total), and WNC staff members for running another successful Repair Café for our Waterfront Community Residents! 51 items were brought in to get fixed! 🙌🏼 Note, this won’t be our last one, more to come!
Repair Café Initiative contributes to the Circular Economy and participates in Toronto’s effort for Waste Reduction.
@repaircafeto is hosted at various locations where Volunteer Fixers consult/assist visitors on repairing items for free, including:
-Broken small appliances
-Sewing Repairs
-Book Binding
-Broken Jewellry, etc.
