Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre has a great new opportunity for a Drama Instructor!
Seniors Act Out (A Cultural Exploration for Seniors in Performing Arts) will provide free, accessible programming that teaches fundamental skills in the performance arts and theatre with a strong focus on building cultural awareness and celebrating differences to meet the diversified needs of community members. Through various forms of entertainment and engagement of lively celebrations, artistic experiences, dramatic play, and musicals seniors will enhance their creative abilities, increase their cultural competency, and gain a new sense of belonging through peer-to-peer connections. A strong objective of the project will focus on creating an awareness and appreciation of individual cultures through the performance arts, promoting civic engagement and social inclusion.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and creative individual to teach Dramatic Arts to Senior Participants 55+ to run workshops that will take place every Thurs. 3:15 to 4:45 pm, Sessions & locations include: 25 Bishop Tutu, 150 Dan Leckie, 679 TCHC & 627 Queens Quay West. Project end date: March 27, 2024.
Drama Instructor will help participants develop fundamental skills in acting, building, and creating sets, making props, designing costumes and more. They will engage in various skits and acting exercises.

- Teaching experience is an asset.
Instructor Compensation: $150 per week (24 weeks for 1.5 hrs per week) = $3600 + $500 for Performance Materials/Supplies and/or Props.
