Instructor, Fitness – Adult Pilates
Pilates for Seniors — 11:00 am – 12:00pm (Sundays)
Pilates (18+) — 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm (Sundays)


Under general supervision of the Manager, Program Administration and Recreation leads and coordinates individual or group adult/physical training sessions for a specified health and fitness program.


  1. Plans and leads exercise/activity sessions in one or more assigned fitness areas, such as Zumba, low impact aerobics, stretching/flexibility, yoga, circuit training, general fitness, weight training.
  2. Sets up and monitors class equipment, and ensures its return in serviceable condition.
  3. Advises participants on program and class procedures and policies, as appropriate.
  4. Distributes handouts and/or class evaluations, if appropriate, and answers questions from participants after each session; assists in performing follow up and communication with participants, as required.
  5. Tracks progress of clients; maintains attendance and client files as appropriate.
  6. Ensures that safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to by participants; reports accidents and prepares accident reports, as required.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Recognized competency and training in field of instructional expertise/may require discipline-specific certification.


  • First Aid and CPR Certification required
  • In accordance with City of Toronto Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy, all staff, volunteers, and students must be fully vaccinated.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening – Police Reference Check.
  • Must be available on weekends
Salary Scale:     Wage Grade 5 – Step 4 ($25.29/hour r + 4% vacation pay)
 This position is a unionized position with CUPE Local 2998
Hours:3 hr/week as per needed
Start Date:         January 22, 2023
